Jonsie Pollock received her dance training in Connecticut at Ballet Etudes Repertory Company, achieving the rank of soloist; and in New York at the Joffrey Ballet and Ballet Theatre School. She was a member of the ballet corps at Radio City Music Hall, danced the role of Graziella in American Musical Theater's stock production of West Side Story, and was co-director and principal dancer with City Center Dance Theatre in Montreal.
Jonsie began her teaching career with Harrison Studios and at John Abbott College in Canada. After
relocating to Georgia, she taught at the Dancer's Collective Theatre and established Dance South Academy. She has been on the faculty of Doris Russell School of Performing Arts, Dance Clayton and the Magdalena Maury School of Classical Ballet. She is Artistic Director of Georgia Youth Ballet, a nationally ranked Southeastern Regional Ballet Association performing company. Former students have gone on to perform with the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Basel Ballet, Limon Dance Company, Ballet Met, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Trockedero de Monte Carlo, Nashville Ballet and Charleston Ballet, or have been accepted to continue their training at Juilliard, NYU, SUNY Purchase, UGA, USF, Butler University, FSU, and London Laban Institute.
Jonsie's musical theater credits include choreography and staging for South Pacific, Finian's Rainbow, Carousel and West Side Story for Darien (CT) Suburban Theater, Clayton Arts Summer Theater productions of Carousel, Music Man, and The King and I, and the Fayette Community Theater's Guys and Dolls, Annie, Music Man and The Sound of Music. She has also choreographed the Sandy Creek High School productions of Hello Dolly!, Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors. She made her directorial debut with Les Miserables, which received a nomination for Best Overall Production at the 2010 Shuler Hensley awards.
